After completing our pictograms, we developed one pictogram into an info graphics. Initially we had very little information about info graphics but after conducting research, we were ready to create our own ones.
The category I developed was fish and my aim was to focus of 3 different types of fish and the flavours that complement them. I chose sushi, pink fish and octopus and developed pictograms based on further primary research. I then brainstormed ideas on various info graphic layouts and colour schemes.

For my final set of four pictograms, I developed my colour scheme completely and painted with watercolours to produce a pastel natural look.

By the second week, our aim was to develop a final set of pictograms from our drawings. This set was then further explored using various mediums, eg. Ink, Marker and Pencil. I chose my ink versions because I was planning to use watercolours for my final set of colour pictograms and I concluded that my ink version would best suit this choice.

I chose earthy colours of red, green and brown as my colour palette because I wanted my pictograms to look natural and fresh.

As part of our new brief, our first task was to take photographs of fish, meat, poultry and salads/vegatables which would be part of our primary research from which we would develop our own pictograms. Upon attending the class, we got a better insight to research and the different ways of conducting it. From the primary research I collected- photographs form the English Market, I began to brainstorm ideas and develop pencil drawings.

After our storyboard, the final part of the brief was to create a poster. The elements on the poster included our name logo, the storyboard content and our expressive type, Family. We had to focus on line spacing, emphasis and alignment.

Storyboard

We received another brief which encouraged us to research kinetic typography and create our own storyboards. We received our content and we had to incorporate an element for which we would sacrifice our lives for. I chose family. We then fully comped our storyboard keeping in mind how to use expressive type instead of symbols and images. Then I printed out my words and created my final piece.
